The petrol option makes the Volkswagen Jetta a cheaper car to buy. The petrol price hikes have not killed all enthusiast aspirations but we don’t think Mumbai or Delhi will be a wash of Jetta petrols in 2012.
Coming to the car’s specifications, the Jetta petrol is powered by a 1.4 L TSI engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission. There are two variants offered, Trendline priced at Rs. 13.60 lakhs, and Comfortline at Rs. 15.07 lakhs (ex showroom, New Delhi).
The car is fitted with Navarra alloy wheels and 205/55 R 16 tyres. It has features such as rear fog lights and indicators embedded into the side mirrors.
The interior is appointed with leatherette seat upholstery and a Leather package for steering wheel, gear shift knob, hand brake grip and rear AC vents for comfort.
Safety is a serious matter for the Jetta which has Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and 6 airbags. Then there are useful features like Hill hold control and Electronic engine immobilizer.
The Jetta petrol will be offered in 6 colors and sales start on the 1st of July.
