Toyota Corolla Altis Aero caught in a dealer’s backyard
Kaustubh Shinde, They say sooner or later your passion finds you. Sometime in late 2009, I started writing for IAB and ever since then it has been a roller coaster ride for me. An amazing experience that has taught me a lot, taken me to new places, driven some great cars and met some amazing people. When you don't find me on IAB (very rarely), you will find me either at a coffee shop or an eatery or at the nearest gadget store. Hope you enjoy IAB as much as we do!
Toyota India is not stranger to limited edition models. The company has tried the ‘limited edition’ marketing tactic with the Innova Crysta and Toyota Etios TRD edition kit and been fairly successful. It has used the limited edition badges on almost all common models since the time of the Qaulis.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor will soon launch a special edition Corolla Altis with an Aero body kit. Our friends at BurnYourFuel have managed to snap an Altis Aero in a dealer’s backyard.
Toyota Corolla Altis Aero features
- Alloys Wheels
- All-round Skirts
- Rear Spoiler
- New Interior Upholstery
- Aero badge on the rear
BurnYourFuel also reports that the Toyota Corolla Altis Aero will only be available in a petrol variant with a manual transmission. A price target of 13-14 lakhs is being predicted and Toyota India will start marketing it very soon.
It is very easy to deduce that this malarkey is being done to shift the petrol models of the Altis off the dealer’s stockyards. With petrol prices spiraling, it is becoming increasingly difficult to sell petrol cars in India. Many manufacturers have resorted to heavy discounts, petrol price lock schemes and other such gimmickry to find a home for their petrol stock.
We will bring you the details once we hear something official, so stay tuned to IndianAutosBlog.com.
