Sooner or later the new Santa Fe has to be launched in India as Hyundai India will begin receiving CKD kits of the new model once production of the current Santa Fe ends.

Hyundai could have executed very traditional SUV lines and brought out a family vehicle. Instead the Koreans resolved to break the mould and launch a vehicle that is different and refreshing.

The third generation Santa Fe also gives us a sneak peek into the world of the “Storm Edge” design, Hyundai’s new design philosophy that we can hope to see in the future generation SUV models which could include a member smaller than the Tucson to join the slugfest the Renault Duster started.

As this video will tell you, the design inspiration for the Santa Fe is nature as it gears up for a storm. The new Santa Fe is a great tool to hammer the Toyota Fortuner in India as the car’s exterior, interior and engines have all been sharpened.
