Renault Pulse petrolQuiet car launches are increasingly becoming a trend in the Indian auto sphere. The Fluidic i20 and Skoda Fabia Scout are testimony to the trend. Yet another car joins the list – Yes, it is the Pulse Petrol!

It is not like we did not see it coming. The Pulse petrol was expected since late last year. The Renault Pulse is essentially a Nissan Micra with a Renault badge on it. Considering the Nissan Micra has a petrol option, you can only imagine the ease of creating a Pulse petrol.

The Pulse petrol is powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine that develops 79bhp at 6000 RPM and 104 Nm of peak torque output at 4,000 RPM.

Renault has launched the Pulse Petrol in 3 variants whose ex-showroom Delhi prices are:

  • RXE: Rs 4.25 lakh
  • RXL: Rs 4.99 lakh
  • RXZ: Rs 5.55 lakh

On the safety front, Renault has made sure that driver airbag is standard across all variants. However ABS is only offered on the top variant.

Renault cannot expect major volumes from the Pulse Petrol owing to market demand increasingly shifting to diesel powered cars. However, it is a very good package for someone looking forward to a city runabout. We hope Renault-Nissan is working on CNG/LPG factory kits for its consumers to make buying a petrol car a more viable option
