We've had a close eye on the Tata Nano since the inception of Indian Autos Blog and no post thus far can match the Gold Plus Nano's bling.

On a special occasion like a birthday, the common practice among Indians is wearing new clothes.

Tata Sons is an Indian salt-to-software conglomerate and somewhere in that list of popular companies is a flourishing jewelery division Titan Industries eager to celebrate 5000 years of Indian jewelry with the car division's pride on wheels.

Tata will not sell these Nanos drenched in gold ornaments. It has posted three different designs on a dedicated website which the public is asked to vote on. The most preferred design will be made into the real thing and will remain as a memento to mark the occasion.

This is a neat celebration that will bring publicity to not only its jewelry division, but boost the Nano's brand value. Gold is usually seen as a symbol of prosperity, and the Nano definitely can do with some.

So which of these three do you think should make it to the real world? Head over to http://goldplusnano.com/ to vote.
