Good news for Toyota lovers. At some point in time, you have had the desire to own the Camry and probably settled for a Corolla. But you know what? Your next car could be the Camry.

Toyota India is seriously thinking about manufacturing it's luxury sedan Camry here in India. This would bring down its price tag by at least 4 lakh rupees as Toyota needn't pay for the excise. The Camry range begins at 21-lakh and is fighting for the top spot in the D-Segment which has a market of 8,000 vehicles annually.

If it is eventually made in India, it will compete in a segment lesser- The battleground which will consist of cars like the Hyundai Sonata and Skoda Laura and what's better is it will have a clear advantage in terms of comfort, features or brand value.

IAB Comment- This will force others to think of locally producing their cars, which will result in cheaper cars and more dreams being realized. It's a thoughtful move and we approve of it :)
