The facelifted Mahindra Scorpio has been photographed without any camouflage. The changes are purely cosmetic and the biggest change and a surprising move is the 2.6 CRDe engine will be no longer produced and the mHawk engine will be the lone motor kitted across the Scorpio's range. The SUV should be launched within a few months time.

The reason why Mahindra has undertaken this operation more than anything else is to boost Scorpio sales. Sales of the Scorpio have fallen considerably and heavy discounts are being offered in some parts of the country.

The cosmetic changes comprise of a new redesigned bumper, new headlamp, foglamps and the new age Mahindra radiator grille with a chrome strip at the center. The car's interiors are also likely to receive minor tweaks. Perhaps, the DDAS system from the XYLO will make it to the top end variants.

This should be the final facelift before the all-new Scorpio (W201 platform) arrives in 2010. We'll keep you updated, so stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog.
