Suzuki Hayabusa and Intruder launched in India

Japanese two-wheeler major Suzuki today launched its two hyper sports bikes, the all speed Hayabusa and the all muscle cruiser Intruder M1800R, both priced at Rs12.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Suzuki Intruder M1800R-

The mighty M1800R is an exercise in ultimates. It is the most powerful mass-production cruiser and uses brakes developed for racing application, has the biggest rear-tyre on a production motorcycle and the biggest piston on any car or motorcycle.

Performance wise, the M1800R is the ultimate production cruiser. If you demand custom bike attention but want sports-bike power and handling, then the M1800R is just the kind of bike for you.

The bike weighs in at a mammoth 319kg! Its got a 1783cc V-Twin engine which offers lots of torque for laid back cruising. Special feature is its shaft driven rear wheel.

Suzuki Hayabusa-

The Hayabusa needs no introduction. The man-machine combination of John Abraham-Hayabusa in DHOOM says it all. Arguably, the worlds fastest production bike, it can hit 200mph at full throttle. It uses a 1.3l-liter 190 bhp engine that uses many advanced technologies to bring race track experience to the road.

Speaking at the launch, "This launch is very significant when we are globally surrounded by uncertainties. Suzuki has been delivering superior technology, which has been proven world-wide. We intend to showcase the same in India," Suzuki Motorcycle India Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) Atul Gupta told reporters here.

The 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa boasts of features like a ram air-equipped 1,340cc 16-valve inline-4 engine with twin swirl combustion chambers, a new S-DMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector) which offers three different engine settings, and sleek aerodynamic design. The hydraulic slipper clutch and radially mounted front brakes ensure smooth power delivery and quicker stops.

The bikes will be available in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The Hayabusa’s instrument cluster features a set of four analog gauges, including step-motor—driven tachometer and speedometer, fuel meter and coolant temperature meter. It comes with wind-cheating, wind-tunnel-developed aerodynamic shape, and the giant weights 220kg.
