Maruti Zen Estilo is coming alive tomorrow

Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo

After countless times of speculating on the “Come Alive” teaser website few of the front-running answers Kizashi, new Swift and old Zen with K-Series engine are all wrong.

Note that we were the first to check the source code of the teaser website and post on the Zen connection from the flash file’s name appearing on the front page.

One of team-bhp’s members Sidindica gained access to the brochure which gives the answer away. The Zen Estilo is coming back to life apparently.

Maruti Suzuki is to be informed no one killed it.

Like how the Wizer campaign worked for WagonR, Maruti is going to promote the Zen Estilo in a never-before-seen fashion.

Using a pair of crash test dummies as mascot, it will advertise the Zen Estilo that failed garnering any major market share since its re-introduction last year. It still isn’t clear if the company is going to supplement safety features to variants, but that is highly unlikely. Its safety features like ABS, Airbags (not available across the range) could be reaffirmed in this campaign.

Would you buy a Zen Estilo if a crash test dummy asks you to?

Maruti Suzuki to facelift Zen Estilo

With the Versa platform-based O2 MPV, Maruti plans to release a Zen Estilo facelift in October 09. The facelift will include minor cosmetic changes in exteriors and in interiors alongwith a Bharat Stage IV compatible engine.

Few days back, you might have read from the Updates in the sidebar that Maruti Ritz is to be launched on the 15th of May. What you might not have heard is the fact that Maruti officials are going around announcing that Maruti Ritz’ main rival is the Maruti Swift. How uncool is that? Let’s hear what Maruti Suzuki MD Shinzo Nakanishi had to say

Ritz will directly compete with Swift. In the past, when we have launched cars in the same segment, it has helped the market to grow. With the launch of Ritz, our customers would have two cars to choose from in the same category”

Just to remind you, WagonR and Zen Estilo are two Marutis competing in the same small car segment. Mind you though, the Wagon R was facelifted when the Esilo came out. Apparently, the idea was to create a spectre of two new cars being launched.

In Swift’s case however, no major facelifts have been done since 2004, and by seeing the number of Swifts on the road (75% in the compact car segment), i would’nt be surprised if someone says he/she has gotten ‘BORED’ of the Swift!
