Vijay Mallya’s Force India did not have the brightest of starts in Formula 1. I could even term it dreadful, since they failed to score any points in their maiden season. Last year’s car had gone through a lot of developments through the races. Due to the tight competition and the advancements made by rival teams, viewers felt they were still no good.
Force India F1 have revealed their new 2009 competitor. Codenamed the VJM that stand for Vijay Mallya, the team’s owner, their car was given a shake-down at a private test session at Silverstone on February 25th.
Force India’s Mercedes-powered 2009 car will be revealed and run for the first time at Jerez in early March, team owner and boss Vijay Mallya said.
“The new car, VJM02, is under construction. It will have a McLaren gearbox and Mercedes engine, which is a big change from VJM01. We are going to unveil it at Jerez in early March,” the Indian billionaire explained in New Delhi.
