The Fortuner according to Toyota will be launched in the month of September. Speculations are plenty about its price, only after the launch can we be sure about anything. Expected price tag – Rs 18 lakh – 19 lakh
The Indian Toyota Fortuner will be powered by a 3.0-Liter Common Rail Diesel engine (163hp, 35kgm), that drives all four wheels using a full-time four wheel drive system. A 2.7-liter VVT-i petrol engine might also be available.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors announced today that its Urban SUV – Fortuner, will come to India by September ’09.
The car is expected to be priced around the Rs.20Lakh price bracket. It will be powered by a 3.0-Liter Common Rail Diesel Engine (163hp, 35kgm), that drives all four wheels using a full-time four wheel drive system. A 2.7Liter VVT-i petrol engine might also be available.
So Toyota has finally decided to launch the Fortuner after years of speculation and delays. It is expected to hit Indian Showrooms in March 2009.
Part of the reason for its delay may be because Toyota might have wanted to launch the facelifted version rather than the old model and partly because the Bidadi factory lacked enough manpower and hence Toyota has not been concentrating on it all this time.
