UK is one country where special edition models are quite popular. Every now and then, we receive updates about some special edition model hitting the market. This time it is that long forgotten Suzuki Grand Vitara that gets a special edition treatment. For 22,135 Pounds you get:

Under the hood, the Grand Vitara SZ-T is powered by 1.9-liter, Fiat-sourced diesel engine that delivers 129 hp and a peak torque of 300 Nm. Make your deposits soon as only 500 units will be made.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara diesel will soon available in Europe, the car will come only as a 3-door version with the 1.9 ltr diesel engine sourced from Fiat.
Recently Maruti Suzuki added Grand Vitara 2.4 ltr petrol to their gamut of cars in India. In Europe the 3 door models are available with options of 1.6 ltr petrol and the 1.9 ltr common rail diesel.
The new models bring with them a series of features like ABS, EBD, ESP (Electronic Stability program), 17 inch alloys (optional), automatic air conditioning, rear privacy glass and a 6 CD changer.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new 2.4L Grand Vitara more powerful sporting a 2.4L, 163.5 Bhp engine as against the current 2.0L, 120 bhp one.
A 2.4 litre VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engine delivering 163.5bhp @ 6000rpm and 225NM @ 4000rpm, claims Maruti, will deliver satisfactory power and efficiency.
The 2.4-liter Grand Vitara receives a few cosmetic upgrades with interior changes. Only time will tell whether Grand Vitara can hold a candle in front of the segment leader Honda CRV or for that matter the Chevy Captiva.

After bringing on the new third generation Grand Vitara, Suzuki is not sitting back. It has gone ahead and launched a limited edition Escudo (the name by which Grand Vitara sells in the Japanese market).
Joining hands with surf wear and equipment brand “O’Neil”, Suzuki has introduced the special edition limited to 600 units.
The 2.4L XG model would be available in this unique form, but only in Japan. The rest of the world will have to wait and watch the success of this venture which may then spark more such special units for the rest of the world. India could sure do with a revamped and exclusive Grand Vitara to bring back the enthusiasts.

A limited edition Suzuki Grand Vitara has been launched in Germany with a set of non-mechanical upgrades. Prices for the manual gearbox is 29,900 euro, 1,300 euro extra for the automatic version.
