Hyundai Santro taxi version was launched today at Modi Hyundai dealership in Mumbai which follows the State Government’s order of phasing-out nearly 7,500 ageing Premier Padminis.

The Mercedes Benz Golf Awards was a glamorous event which included a display of AMG cars and India’s well known models walking the ramp. The S65 AMG and the SL63 AMG were parked at the function.

Speculation has it that, Tata Motors is finalising its retail plans for its British marques- Jaguar and Land Rover to set base here in India. Tata officials said that plans are underway to try and sell the cars through company-owned showrooms.

Audi India posts record sales of 201% in 2008

Notwithstanding the slowdown in the automobile industry, German luxury car manufacturer Audi had an ”exciting time” last year in India, with sales in the country increasing a whopping 201% (1,050 units sold in 2008 as opposed 349 units sold in 2007)

Mahindra Renault refuses to supply Logan to Mumbai taxi drivers

Mahindra Renault Logan- when you think of this name, space, space and more space comes to your mind- Why, it’s India’s firse wide body car.

Mumbai Taxi driver’s association were looking to replace their fleet which presently boasts of decade old cars like the black-yellow Premier Padmini which can’t serve as taxis in 21st century any more. They thought the Mahindra Renault Logan was an excellent alternative. It’s got a large boot, the best shoulder and leg room for five adults and a frugal diesel engine.

Renault is designing Bajaj’s low cost car

French manufacturer Renault Motors is designing the entry-level low cost car (codenamed ULC) that it going to be rolled out jointly with Nissan Motors and Bajaj Auto from their Chakan unit in Maharashtra by 2011. The final shape of the car has already been decided and the French automaker’s team will continue its styling until its production. The finishing touches will be done by the Boulogne-Billancourt-based company’s Mumbai design centre.  [ Read More ]
