After the futile primo stint of the Italian giant in our country, it was the group of die hard Fiat aficionado’s (includes us here in Indian Autos Blog) who had the belief in the company to defy all odds and kick back. These die hard fans never gave up prating about Palio S10 (1.6) & Palio Adventure, be it clubs or forums or bars.

Every time one talks about these offerings, one goes into seeing himself behind the steering of these machines and revving them hard. It was the pure sound of the engine and exhaust which made the youths go crazy about it.

It was such models Fiat was known for and not the Palio 1.1. The major chunk of the brand’ followers are youngsters, when Fiat announced its comeback, they were the one who flooded blogs and forums and followed magazines to see them again revving the new Linea and Punto.

Fiat launched the Linea, it stirred everyone by it Italian design; all the young maniacs queued up to lay their hands on its steering.

Fiat will source parts for low cost car from India

The Italian Auto major -FIAT has said that India will play an important role in the launch of FIAT’s low cost car brand which is expected by year 2010.

Earlier, Fiat had plans of confining the low cost brand to the European markets. Now though, FIAT is considering India as a key hub for its new brand chiefly for supply of cheap yet durable components.

The Italian car manufacturer Fiat has finally launched its Linea sedan in a glittering ceremony in Mumbai at Taj Lands End. The car was due in December but because of recent Mumbai terror attacks car makers like FIAT and Mahindra postponed the launches of their new products, Linea and Xylo respectively.

“Fiat has kept its promise of making this an exciting year for its customers. The launch of the Linea is the first in the line of three launches that Fiat will undertake this year, the other two being Bravo and Grande Punto,”Said Fiat India CEO, Rajeev Kapoor.

FIAT Linea is available in both forms- Diesel as well as petrol, the Petrol version comes with 1368cc FIRE engine which produces max. torque of 115 NM @ 4500 RPM, and the diesel is available with 1248 CC popular Multijet engine which is very new and refined and it produces Max. Torque of 203NM @ 2500 RPM, it has total of six gears including 1 reverse which is M/T type.

Fiat Linea Spied at Tata Motors dealership

Here’s solid proof that will confirm the Fiat Linea’s presence in Tata Motors’ dealerships in the country. Information was sketchy until now, and a lot of uncertainty on whether or not Lineas had arrived to the showrooms existed, which is cleared by this video.

You can see a Red colored Fiat Linea with stickers on the doors. It’s probably the demo car which will be displayed at the showroom where it was spotted a few days from now.
