Lamborghini charts aggressive India strategy

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4Supercar manufacturers coming to India is old news. But the same manufacturers expanding their foothold in the country is certainly a new one. Lamborghini is one such manufacturer which is really ‘bullish’ on the Indian market.

Lamborghini had only dealership in India which was in Delhi being managed by Exclusive Motors. In an effort to bump up the presence, Lamborghini has appointed Autohangar as its dealer in Mumbai to cater to the western markets.

Autohangar is famous for their Mercedes dealership in Mumbai.

The company is also planning on an aggressive strategy to capture the Supercar market in India. According to a company sources, India has a special allocation of 8-10 Aventadors, the company latest supercar with 700 horses under the bonnet. Sources also reveal that there is a queue of buyers for Aventador and they are happily willing to part with 4 Cr to own one.

Video Commercial – 2009 Audi R8 V10 5.2 FSI

It might look like the same Audi R8 that was launched in 2007, but that’s where the similarities end.

This new R8 has two more cylinders and a little more grunt than the old Audi R8, thanks to a Lamborghini-sourced V10 engine that sends 525 horsepower to all four wheels via a sophisticated quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The Result is a zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) sprint in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 316 km/h (196.35 mph).

Porsche Panamera coming to India by Sep’09

Porsche India has slated plans to bring its four door coupe -Panamera here by September this year. Panamera, which will make its first public appearance at 2009 Shanghai Autoshow, will be released in International markets this summer, and come to India for a final stopover.

Italian Supercar manufacturer – Lamborghini (Known for vicious Hyper-cars) is trying its hand on Bicycles. Lamborghini with British grocers Tesco has started selling High-Performance Lamborghini’s bicycles through its catalogue service and online. The two-wheeler, which wears the Lambo’s legendary badge is designed and built by the company owned by Ferrucio Lamborghini’s son, Tonino.
