Honda PCX 150

Honda PCX was first launched in Thailand in 2009. Later on, Honda PCX has entered other markets like Vietnam and Indonesia. In 2018, Honda brought this maxi-scooter to Malaysia. Around its launch in the Malaysian market, there were rumors suggesting that the Honda PCX 150 would be introduced in India.

What is Honda PCX 150?

Honda PCX 150 is a maxi scooter that was first launched in Thailand in November 2009. It is currently on sale in some markets in Asia and Europe.

What does Honda PCX 150 offer?

Honda PCX 150 is styled with a bulbous design. On the front end, it comes with larger front fairings and sharp-looking LED headlights, and a windshield.  It also gets a full-digital instrument cluster. The design is well thought-out with a small storage compartment below the front apron. In addition, the Honda PCX also features a storage capacity of 28.8 liters under the seat.

Honda PCX 150 is powered by a 149.3cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that is capable of making 14.7 PS and 13.2 Nm. This engine is supported by Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) that optimizes combustion and minimizing friction, making the engine more efficient. The same technology is also applied in the Honda Actavia 125 which is currently on sale in India.

In 2019, the patent image of the Honda PCX was leaked, suggesting that the Honda PCX in India might come with a V-TEC engine. It was revealed that the engine will come with four valves instead of two valves as the international model. If launched with the VTEC engine, the Honda PCX 150 in India will take on the Yamaha NMax 155. In Indonesia, Honda PCX 150 costs around IDR 28.93 million which is around INR 1.45 lakh.

While the Honda PCX150 is not yet confirmed to hit the Indian market, Honda has launched the new 2021 Honda PCX 160 in Thailand. This new model is priced at THB 91,900 which is around INR 2.23 lakh. Besides, Honda also introduced the PCX e:HEV for customers. The hybrid scooter costs around THB 1,07,500 (INR 2.61 lakh).
