At the next week Geneva Motorshow, Chevrolet is all set to announce the Cruze station wagon. However, prior to the Motorshow, Chevrolet has released a few media shots of the Cruze which has accidentally opened a pandora’s box of speculation.

You see the Cruze is about to get a facelift soon and many test mules have been spied wearing camouflage on the front suggesting a front fascia update. Surprisingly, the Cruze station wagon features a different front fascia than the sedan. Thus speculations are rife that the front fascia of station wagon will be carried over to the sedan.

The iconic ‘bow tie’ is now celebrating its 100th years existence. Known to be an average American’s average car, the Chevy has indeed come a long way from where it started off. From Corvettes and Camaros to [ Read More ]
The N300 series van will help GM penetrate the Maruti Omni and O2 segment vehicle
By around 2011, Wuling’ N200 and N300 series vans will be sold in India, which marks GM’s entry into the LCV segment in India.
The LCV segment is populated with names like Force, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Piaggio etc. But as GM is going to sell minivans initially, they would have to compete with the likes of Maruti’s Omni and Tata’s Ace Magic. GM will equip the vans with fuel efficient diesel engines.
Wuling, which operates under directions of GM, is also said to be secretly developing a small car that will be slotted under the Chevrolet Spark in the future in India. Though there is no official confirmation of such a launch, GM officials overseas have spoken about the strategy adopted for the low-cost product which will use a lot of tried and test components from previous generation models.
Wuling’s vans are already sold in North Africa, South America and the Middle East as Chevrolets. GM could use the same ploy in India as it enjoys a good status among utility vehicle buyers through the Tavera.

We saw this one coming. Today, the press gathered in the country’s capital to witness a one of kind partnership between two very different auto companies.
It was to convey that GM India and REVA have joined hands to bring out electric vehicles.
The companies will also work with the government to setup the required infrastructure for these vehicles. GM’s platform’s will be handed to REVA who will fit it with their technology. The end product could also be shipped to European countries, which are better prepared to handle electric vehicles.
No word on the vehicles that will enjoy the result of the partnership. The earlier report stated it will be the Spark. We think the new Spark would also be a good idea.
Our sources add within twelve months from this notice, GM India will roll out its first EV.
Let us see.

Chinese car company Wuling, which is partially operated by GM, is rumored these days to be busy working on a car that will cost approximately $4,000. GM is likely to reserve this car for developing countries like India, South America, Brazil and China.
Wuling is experienced with manufacturing low cost vehicles. At present, it manufactures low cost pickup trucks and vans for China. Mostly, GM would develop a smaller capacity engine to suit this car’s profile. The interiors could be basic but vital family chromosomes like the split grille and large headlamps will remain.
The rendering above uses bits from the Smart, next generation Spark and the Nano. We expect the car to come with four doors and a platform that is fit for all kinds of small vehicles.
A day after we reported that GM is planning to launch new variants of Chevrolet Spark, GM has launched a special Edition of Chevrolet Spark, named as Spark Muzic.
As the name suggests, the Spark Muzic is launched to attract the young generation who are tight on budget and want a funky car with all the bells and whistles.
The success of its two hatchbacks – the Aveo U-VA and the Spark and new releases from other automakers – has spurred GM India to think of bringing the Chevrolet Mini sooner than ever!
GM is now working out all odds to bring in the ‘Mini’ and heat up the premium hatchback space. The Chevrolet Mini which is based on the Beat concept (showcased two years back in New York Auto Show) will come with frugal Petrol and Diesel engine options; expected to be positioned above the Chevrolet U-VA and priced around that range.
The Chevy Mini as it appears (in pictures), would be a large hatchback- possibly the largest hatchback India has seen (we’ll leave out the SRV for now)! But this is just a speculation (a visual perception), as no dimensions have been revealed yet.
We’ll be thrilled to see what Chevrolet has to say when they see this one (we’ve sent this article as an email to them) This is what happens when you have a small car with big aspirations but a faulty instruction manual.
OK, so Chevrolet replaced the 800 cc engine on the Matiz with a 1,000cc motor and renamed it the Spark. The power intensified by a few horsepower and everyone was happy. Not everyone, apparently.
