Maruti to introduce Stop-Start technology to its range

Maruti Suzuki is likely to roll out cars with stop-start technology soon. This technology will boost the fuel economy by around 5-10%, but will increase the car’s price by Rs.10,000-20,000. Bosch is said to source this patented technology to Maruti.

Hyundai i20 i-Blue to meet production shortly

Hyundai unveiled the i20 along with its sister model i20 i-blue last September 2008, in Paris Motor Show. Sources say that the i20 i-blue concept car will make it to production very soon.

The i20 i-blue is the latest from the range of advanced low emissions concept cars from Hyundai. The car looks very similar to the standard i20, but the drastic changes done are hidden under the hood.

Tata Nano Update- Exide batteries to find application on the car

Exide, a very reputed and India’s largest lead acid storage battery manufacturer, has claimed that they would provide battery solutions for the upcoming small car. Reports suggest that the Kolkata-based company will begin commercial supply of batteries for the world’s cheapest car at the Indian automaker’s Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand, where the first batch of Nanos will roll out from.

Tata Nano Hybrid- What the experts say

The world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano, is now eying the title of ‘world’s cheapest hybrid’. Tata Motors is considering a micro-hybrid version of the Nano with ‘Start-Stop Technology’ technology that allows the vehicle to reduce fuel consumption by 5% and cut emissions by up to 10%.

Tata Motors’ Thailand division is launching the Xenon Super CNG pickup truck at the forthcoming Bangkok International Motor Expo 2008, on November 29th. The TATA Xenon Super CNG is Tata’s and Thailand’s first purpose-built pickup truck with a factory-installed full CNG system.

West Bengal: Chinese move in, Germans step out!

First Automobile Works Ltd, a Chinese company, is ready to invest in West Bengal along with an Indo-Russian Joint Venture, Ural India Ltd. Ural India is a joint venture between Uralaz of Russia and Kolkata based Mitijug group. They plan to launch heavy duty and high performance trucks. Bosch Engine Technology for Tata Nano

German auto component giant Bosch will be supplying its latest petrol engine technologies and security systems to Tata Nano.
