Hyundai India Launches Verna Automatic; Other changes cosmetic

Hyundai Motors has finally launched the refreshed Verna with an Automatic Gearbox. This is the first diesel car in its segment equipped with an auto transmission. Other changes on new Verna are purely cosmetic. The refreshed Verna is available in total of four new variants, Two Petrol – 1.6 VTVT & 1.6 SX VTVT and two diesel 1.5 CRDi VGT & 1.5 SX CRDi VGT, The VGT SX variant comes with an Auto gearbox.

Honda City – Launched in Australia

As we reported earlier, the New 3rd Generation Honda City was recently launched in Pakistan. Following the trend of overseas launches, the Australian Auto-market is the latest recipient of the new Honda City.

2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class gets AMG Sports pack

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has not yet made it to the Indian market, but when it does come, the prospective E-Class buyer will have the choice of buying a new E-Class, upgraded with the AMG sports pack. This new, optional package includes sporty and dynamic features, some of which are not available individually. The AMG sports package can be combined with all engine variants and all E-Class design and equipment lines.

Tata to produce 80,000 Nano units before March 2010

The first units of Tata Nano will roll out from Tata’s Pantnagar facility by the end of February this year. While the engines and gearboxes for the Nano will be built at Tata’s plant in Pune, the final assembly will take place at the Pantnagar plant upon shipment.

Hyundai Plans to launch i30 and Avante in India

It has not been even a month since Hyundai launched its i20 hatch in India and now the company plans to launch its i30 and Avante (new Elantra) soon in Indian in what we call a launching spree!

The i30 which was first launched at the Tokyo Motor Show for the Japanese market, is now being considered for an Indian debut because of the tremendous response towards the recently launched i20.

Toyota Corolla Altis is the best selling Premium Sedan in India

World’s second largest car manufacturer – Toyota, has’nt been quite successful last year around (after seeing the first loss in 71 Years!) But now has some news to cheer! The cheer comes from India, in the form of Corolla Altis’ leadership. The Corolla Altis which was launched here in September ’08, had become an instantaneous hit and soon took the title of market leader since October 2008. It has won the hearts of many a customer and has successfully regained leadership (Overthrowing Honda Civic) in the premium sedan segment (C-Segment) of the Indian automotive market. The 10th generation Corolla Altis has achieved 42 per cent market share in the period September – December 2008 in the premium mid-sized car segment.

Tata Nano will most likely roll out of assembly on December 28 – Ratan Tata’s birthday, just as the ‘Indica ‘ was launched a decade ago when he turned 61. The Nano will currently be bulit in Tata’s sattellite plants, so expect only a few numbers of the base model to be sold initially.
