We’ve not been able to update the blog frequently as the schedule at the show has been very hectic. We’ve had one-to-one chats with industry bosses and asked them questions you’ve always needed answers for.

While other websites were uploading images and information, we were talking to the company representatives asking them all kinds of questions. Some of them loved it. Some of them didn’t.

We will be updating the blog with the information and images as and when it is possible.

Indian Autos Blog was in Delhi today to cover the launch of the new Mercedes Benz GL, S500L and the Chevrolet Beat.

At the launch of the Chevrolet Beat, we had an exclusive chat with GM’s global design chief Mr.Ed Welburn who is credited with designing cars like the Beat, Cruze and Camaro. Mr Welburn spoke to us on where GM’s design is heading and how the Beat came about.

We’ll hopefully publish all the information and images live from the show so you don’t have to go anywhere. Check IAB every hour for updates.

This is our interpretation of Honda’s small car which will be exhibited at the show next month

Honda in a press release issued today said it will display the small car concept at the Auto Expo in Delhi next month. The small car, termed by many as “mini Jazz” will be manufactured in India and positioned under the Jazz. There are also rumors floating around that the hatchback (code: 2CV) will use a 1.1-liter petrol engine and roll out by 2011, though we have no confirmations on the displacement.

Apart from the aforementioned exhibits, the Japanese company will display the famous ASIMO humanoid robot and the CR-Z hybrid concept car to the show.

Honda will also display the existing line-up of cars at the show.

Ford-Mondeo-faceliftA one-on-one question and answer session yesterday with the top men from Ford India was arranged for Indian Autos Blog where the Ford management swiftly dodged questions on their small car.

But when asked about the Mondeo, Ford did not give a direct and clear reply. Instead, a cheeky smile on their faces conveyed something was cooking.

We get a gut feeling here – Don’t be surprised if the Mondeo makes it to the Auto Expo 2010.

Caught testing here is the facelifted 4th generation Mondeo with changes to its front-end and interiors. The design will be finished abiding Ford’s Kinetic Design philosophy. Under the hood, more fuel efficient engines are expected.

We don’t know whether Ford will assemble this car here. We’re not sure if they’ll bring it in through the CBU route. We don’t know much. All we know if Ford’s top brass were acting slightly funny when we pitched this hot question to them.
