Mercedes India invited IAB to the launch of the JPSI-AMG Performance Driving Academy and our racer Gaurav Malik was more than happy to oblige. Here is what he had to say -
Have you ever been to one of those religious programs which are meant to enrich and soothe souls? That’s exactly the kind of treatment I got at the Buddh international circuit where Mercedes Benz India kicked off their Performance Driving academy.
The sound of roaring cars, the smell of burning rubber and the name – Buddh International Circuit, sounds like we’re about to reflect on last year’s F1 race, right?
Well not exactly.
What we’ve got here, we believe, no one else has. Ritesh Madhok, a talented photographer has sent Indian Autos Blog a handful of pictures from the Award function which was conducted in Mumbai, same day last week.
The Mercedes Benz Golf Awards was a glamorous event which included a display of AMG cars and India’s well known models walking the ramp. The S65 AMG and the SL63 AMG were parked at the function.
There’s so much AMG related content on IAB today. First there was the AMG pack for the upcoming E-Class. Then the shiny C63 AMG, and now this.
Mercedes Benz India Limited has sent us a few images of the drive that preceded the AMG launch, which was held at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon last year. It was a glitzy launch function, but all we got to see until now was a small image with a car and 2 unidentifiable women on either sides.
Enjoy the images
All that glitters needn’t be gold, and the car you see in the picture is an example of that.
This chrome-finished Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, gladly sits on the front page of Indian Autos Blog, as AMG has strayed into India. Images were snapped in Dubai (duh!) but the owner wasn’t to be seen anywhere close by (probably went to buy an island to park this in)
Mercedes-Benz India presented its AMG range of performance cars in India at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon. The mean machines from the Mercedes-AMG range have made their mark on and off the racing circuits worldwide and are now (surprisingly in these troubled times of recession) making their appearance in the Indian market, just the way we predicted its December coming.
German car manufacturer Mercedes Benz (A part of Daimler Chrysler) is planning to launch its hyper-performance AMG (Aufretch Melcher Grobaspatch) models in Indian market by the end of this year. AMG is a wing of Mercedes Benz which procures the stock cars from the parent company and customizes it, adding visual enhancements and power.
