Leaked – Image of New Fiat Uno

Fiat-Uno-2010-1New Fiat Uno arrives in Brazil this March; Follows in other countries afterward

We’ve been following the new Fiat Uno all along with leaked images of its components, renderings and spyshots. But here’s the real deal for the Uno fan – a head-on spy shot of an undisguised Fiat Uno which could make it to India in the future.

Fiat’s line-up of small cars in India ends with the Palio and the company is in the process of designing a completely new small car from scratch in its Italian HQ. To fill the gap and to make the positioning easier, the new Uno could emerge as a likely candidate, but no one in the Indian camp is talking about it yet.

The new Uno looks plain but solid. There are three passages provided on the right of the fascia, which is never seen before on a Fiat. The bumpers are big and the headlamps extending backwards resembles the Doblo.

The rear view mirrors are similar to the ones used on the Fiat Punto. We expect plenty of components from existing Fiat cars to play crucial roles on the Uno. The absence of chrome or sophisticated styling reminds us of the car’s low price tag. Most likely, this Fiat will likely form the entry point in many new markets.

New Fiat Palio and Uno to exist alongside current models

The new Fiat Palio and the Fiat Uno will coexist with the existing Fiats, reports Noticiasautomotivas. Remember that the Uno was launched back in 1984 and when the new Palio comes in the next few years, the Uno would have completed 30 years of its life with very little changes to its looks.

In India, Fiat’s isn’t letting go of the Palio as its entry level model. Next year the Palio will receive a facelift to keep abreast with competitors going into the next decade. Structural modifications and a modified steering wheel to make way for the compulsory airbag is planned in 2014.

Spied yet again – 2010 Fiat Uno

The Fiat Uno’s successor illustrated and spied on previous occasions (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 times), is placed right under our spotlight once again.

Small cars make up the bulk of sales in India, this one looks and feels like an able challenger to the WagonR and Estilo with its simple, low cost styling- two reasons why Fiat should bring this to India, and two good ones.

Of all small cars in the Fiat line-up, this would be the cheapest, positioned under the Panda and sold throughout Europe with safety features like Airbags as standard fitment. The 2010 Fiat Uno could use a sub-1000cc engine mated to a 5-speed transmission.

This 2010 Fiat Uno is the first of the many such small cars from all major automakers including Hyundai, Ford, Mitsubishi and Honda.

We’ve already brought you enough details on the new Fiat Uno (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times), but here’s more. The new Fiat Uno will be based on the next-generation Fiat Panda from Europe, but with some changes.

From the images which were shared by Giovane da Silva, we can see that the new headlamps will kind of dig into the bonnet, where the back lights will be based higher up the back of the model, similar to the Punto.

The back will be straight with a slight curve. The number plate will be housed in the bumper, and the sides on this model will be very similar to that of the Panda. The lack of any curves or complex shapes reduces manufacturing costs, understandable as this is a low-cost car.

Fiat’s new Uno will have a load of styling cues from the new Palio model as well, and we could see a debut, or even a release in December. Rumors are floating around that China will manufacture the new Uno, but we’re more interested in hearing when it’ll arrive in India.

Rendering – 2010 Fiat Uno

We have spoken enough of the 2010 Fiat Uno and the possibility of Fiat making use of the Ranjangoan facility to manufacture it. Fiat could follow Maruti’s footsteps by selling this car with a different name despite it being a modern Fiat Uno.

Fiat‘s trying to get a hold in the Indian market and with the positive response it received with the Linea, it is definitely getting there. The Grande Punto should accelerate progress and small cars such as this Uno will reach India eventually.

Rendering – 2010 Fiat Uno

Yet another Fiat Uno rendering has emerged. Compared to Jorge’s futuristic rendering (shown earlier), this one has a better chance of being the next Fiat Uno, as it resembles the spy pictures in size and shape.

Codenamed the Project 327, the new Uno will share its platform with the next-generation Panda. It will come with Airbags and other safety equipment as standard, and feature fresh interiors like the Fiat 500 (but only in Europe).

2010 Fiat Uno caught testing in Brazil

You might be aware that Fiat is currently working on Project 327, which will be the next generation Fiat Uno, due to be out in 2010 or 2011. After the two Fiat Uno renderings featured, these spyshots here, have lots more to say.

The heavily camouflaged car shown here (allegedly a Fiat Uno) was caught testing in Brazil, which is Fiat’s home turf in terms of sales. Firstly, the car looks huge! But, you can never say, there’s every possibility of a puny car hiding under that camouflage.

We hear that the new Uno will share its platform with the next-generation Panda, will come with Airbags and other safety equipment as standard, and feature fresh interiors like the Fiat 500 (only for Europe). Elsewhere, Uno might share interiors with Fiat Palio.

Designer Jorge Fernandez today published a projection of how this could be the future Fiat Uno, which in his words, could also appear at the end of 2009.

We are talking about the 326 project, which together with the 327 project, a renewal of the Palio hatchback, the family would give new impetus to the popular Italian brand.

The project 326 will initially be available in Europe under the brand Innocenti, not to mix with the sales of successful Fiat models such as the Panda, Punto and 500.
