Nissan Motor Company’s Indian investment plans are on track to begin the production of compact cars by next year. Nissan and Renault are jointly developing a Rs 4,500-crore manufacturing facility in Chennai, which will roll out the company’s A-segment car- March (known as Micra abroad).
Renault-Nissan has been getting its plant in Chennai ready by 2009 for the launch of its all new Nissan Micra/March. The plant will be opened on schedule and will be the small car export hub for this car.The 2010 Nissan March is essentially a hatchback based on the same platform as the Suzuki A-Star.
