As Mahindra&Mahindra is planning to launch Ssangyong’s products Rexton and Korando in India, the automaker is also considering to enter the Korean market with the help of Ssangyong. The SUV leader of the Indian market is planning to assemble their most popular product – XUV500 – in the Korean market.
While Ssangyong products would be retailed under the Korean brand in India, the company is yet to decide on branding Mahindra products in Korea. However M&M is in advanced stages of leveraging Ssangyong’s (SMC) research and development capabilities. Both companies plan to develop an all new platform in each of their domestic markets. Both platforms is expected to be ready not before 2015.
The Mahindra XUV500 has caught the masses fancy like no other SUV. Having won more than 8 awards from critics for various categories, the SUV is so popular that M&M cannot keep up with the demand. The first round of bookings included 8,000 deliveries.
However, in the second round of bookings, there were 25,000 applications and Mahindra’s plant definitely couldn’t satisfy the demand.
As a result, a lottery system was adopted from which 7200 lucky winners would get the keys to their own XUV500 very soon. To make sure that the draw was fair, Mahindra conducted a city wise draw which included 19 cities across India.
To ensure complete transparency of the process, the draw was validated by the professional services firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd
Finally, the results of the draw are out and Mahindra has uploaded the list of winners on their website. Alternatively, you can also dial in 1800-209-6006 (Toll Free) to know the status of your bookings. Do let us know whether you have won. A box of sweets will be highly appreciated

M&M has a knack of knowing when to bring the replacement models in the market is such a manner that maximum is obtained from the outgoing model and minimum cannibalization happens within the existing portfolio.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor just gave the Innova a comprehensive revamp and immediately it caught the market’s fancy. The most successful challenger to the Innova – the Xylo was in dire need of change and so it gets one. But what has changed?
Although the entire model lineup has been changed, but the most number of changes are done to a new top variant – E9.
Mahindra has just unveiled the facelift of the Xylo at its Kandivali manufacturing plant in Maharashtra and announced prices for the same. There are a total of 5 variants -

Mahindra Xylo facelift variant and price (in lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi)
The passionate folks at Cousins On Cars have photographed the basic version of the Xylo facelift with black bumpers and plain looks. The side profile is the same, the tail lights have subtle revisions (note the clear lens portion) and all variants get a new steering wheel.
Mahindra sells two versions of the Xylo, one for the personal segment and another for the commercial segment. The facelift has improved the car’s looks as it has cleared the clutter. The front-end looks orderly and some guidance has come from the commercial vehicle twin, Genio.
