The Raging Bull wants to mimic Porsche’s strategy of introducing an SUV in their portfolio of supercars. The Cayenne has been a profitable product for Porsche and Lamborghini expects a similar result with Urus.

Production however would not start earlier than 2017. One reason for it could be Lamborghini’s interest in utilizing a new platform developed by the VW group for their future SUVs. But in order to make the vehicle lighter, engineers might make use of carbon-fibre structure throughout. The target is to keep the weight under 2,000 kg, making it one of the lightest luxury SUVs out there.

For engine options the Bull is looking at using a twin-turbocharged V8 rather than going in for something bigger. The aim is to keep the cost under control without losing out on performance. Powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 700hp roaming around the crankshaft, 0-60mph comes up in less than 3 seconds. By the time you’re done reading this sentence, the Lamborghini Aventador would be accelerating past 130kph.

For that money, what you get is the best Lamborghini can offer your till date. Unveiled at Geneva last year, the Aventador replaces the Murchielago as Lamborghini’s new flagship V12 model.

Codenamed LP700-4, The LP stands for ‘Longitudinale Posteriore’ which basically means the car is mid-engined. 700 is the Horsepower which is 30 more than the outgoing Murcielago all of which comes from a brand new 6.5-liter V12 engine. It is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) that can change gears in 50 milliseconds. And the -4 means that power is sent to all 4 wheels. Now that’s a recipe for a Sunday morning drive Lamborghini style!

The brand new V12 can hurl the car from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 217 mph. The stopping power comes from comes from 400 mm 6-caliper front and 380 mm 4-caliper rear discs. The grip comes from the 4 wheel drive and massive 19-inch alloys up front and 20-inch at the back alloys with 255/35 and 335/30 tires respectively.

Other gadgetry such as electronically controlled rear spoiler and side air intakes, multimedia system with 7-inch screen, navigation and xenon lights also complete the Aventador experience.

Lamborghini had only dealership in India which was in Delhi being managed by Exclusive Motors. In an effort to bump up the presence, Lamborghini has appointed Autohangar as its dealer in Mumbai to cater to the western markets.

Autohangar is famous for their Mercedes dealership in Mumbai.

The company is also planning on an aggressive strategy to capture the Supercar market in India. According to a company sources, India has a special allocation of 8-10 Aventadors, the company latest supercar with 700 horses under the bonnet. Sources also reveal that there is a queue of buyers for Aventador and they are happily willing to part with 4 Cr to own one.

Lamborghini has decided to open a second dealership in Mumbai. After Exclusive Motors, Bafna Motors, who are known for their Harley Davidson dealership, have been also appointed to represent Lamborghini in India.

But the biggest news is that Lamborghini’s latest offering – the V12 – 700 BHP Aventador, which was unveiled at Geneva this year, has found not 1, not 2, not 3 but 11 buyers in India!

Being a Lambo, all this ‘POWER’ fanaticism is coupled with outlandish/show-off gadgetry like electronically controlled rear spoiler and side air intakes, multimedia system with 7-inch screen, navigation and xenon lights. The car can be bought in 13 exterior colors and 12 interior colors which is pointless because if you want a Lamborghini, lets face it, you want one is bright Yellow!

Exclusive Motors, the sole retailer of Lamborghini cars in India has launched the insanely powerful & the fastest Lambo to ever go into production – the Murcielago LP670-4 SV (Super Veloce) in the Indian market.

The car is powered by a 6.5 litre V12 engine that churns out 658 rampageous Italian horses. The SV comes equipped with a 6-speed sequential, automated manual transmission E-gear, which uses electro-hydraulics to shift gear extremely quickly. It does a 0-100 in a breathtaking 3.2 seconds & can touch speeds of 342 km/h.

The car gets a lot of carbon fiber kit which makes it 34 kg lighter than the standard Murcielago at 1565 kg. The car gets a new chassis, transmission & new interiors as well over the standard Murcielago. The car has a construction similar to that of a race car & the transmission tunnel on this one is also made up of carbon fiber. There is a choice of two aerodynamic setups featuring either a small or large rear spoiler.

On the inside too there is oodles of carbon fiber with the bucket seats made out of them & lined with alcantara micro fiber. The Murci has a double wishbone suspension & spring struts, two on each of the rear wheels & one each on the front wheels.
