Our friends in Argentina have made a collection of renderings on the upcoming Chevrolet Viva which in truth is the next generation model of the Aveo. In India however, we are yet to see the facelifted version of the existing Aveo and floating rumors of a possible 2010 Auto Expo launch gives us some hope.
Developed by the Brazilian division of GM, the Chevrolet Viva was spied on many a occasion. It was caught during the Nurburgring rounds followed by a cold weather run. The car could reach a Brazilian production line by the end of 2009 and who knows, India maybe in its list of places to visit next year.
The Chevrolet Viva as it will be called in Brazil, shares its underlying structures with the new Spark. The 1.4 and the 1.8-litre petrols will find their place under the bonnet.

This is the mostly how the 2010 Chevrolet Viva/Aveo, which was spied by multiple sources on one occasion even at the Nurburgring, would look like.
The 2010 Chevrolet Viva/Aveo will share its platform with the new Chevrolet Spark (Gamma 2). The duo will share many design cues, one could even consider the Viva as new Spark older brother.

The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo, spied by two different sources during the last week makes this the third encounter. Autoweek NL’ photographers caught the test mule during a routine cold weather test. Autoweek appears confused about the identity of this car, but we are clear. This is the next generation Chevrolet Aveo slated for release in 2010. The production car will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.

Auto Express identifies this car as the next generation Lacetti. We believe the next generation Lacetti is the Chevrolet Cruze.
This car you see here is in fact the next generation Aveo. Built on the Gamma 2 platform, it has the same DNA as the 2010 Chevrolet Spark.
Auto Express also mentions this car would be introduced in 2010.

The Chevrolet Aveo U-VA’s successor was snapped while testing at the infamous Nurburgring. The Aveo utilizes the company’s Gamma 2 platform which is also common to the upcoming Spark.
Look closely and you’ll accept this is meant to function as a bigger Spark. The tail lamps, lines along the doors, wheel arches imply this is cut out to do the job of the Spark’s elder brother. The DNA is apparent.
Chevrolet will manufacture this car in India. In response to the period of dry sales GM is witnessing in the United States, it decided to boost production elsewhere on the globe, including India, and we predict this car should be in that list containing high-volume cars.
Expect the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA‘s successor in 2011. Expect to see the production version at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
