Ford offering Rally kit for Euro Fiesta hatchback

Ford is offering equipment for the Fiesta hatchback in Europe that will transform it into something close to a rally car. This package is developed by Ford’s official rally partner M-Sport. The major change is very much under the hood – the 4-cylinder 1.6-liter engine now develops 168hp and 134 lb-ft of torque, 40% more than what you started with.

Other upgrades include:

* Five-speed Sadev sequential gearbox with flat shift gear cut
* Reiger adjustable dampers with Eibach springs
* Ventilated disc brakes with AP four-piston competition calipers
* T45 steel multipoint roll cage

The innocent and silent city hatch will be transformed into a crazy roller-coaster after the treatment. If you’re looking for something lighter and madder, then you should go for the R1 package that has a roll cage, ball joints, engine performance upgrades, dampers and a limited-slip differential. Once you put those into place, your Fiesta is ready to take on any Rally course.

We’re not aware if Ford offered such a package for the previous generation Fiesta (sold as Figo in India), but if they did, Ford India must fancy bringing some of it here. Ford cars are always fun to drive and the Ford Fiesta 1.6 S highlighted that with a tighter suspension setup and special tires. Perhaps it’s time for Ford to go one better by offering something such as the sports package for the enthusiast crowd.

New Wagon R to be offered with bodykits as well?

Goa on wheels has snapped the new Wagon R with company fitted body kits. Maruti had offered bodykits for the regular Zen Estilo when it was launched and many had gone in for them.

Maruti Suzuki is trying to beef up the new Wagon R’s looks and make it appealing with the front, rear and side skirts. With the inclusion of the bodykit, the Wagon R looks even better. There are no changes in the passenger cabin or under the hood.

Mugen’s custom parts for Honda Jazz in America

The Honda Fit (Jazz) Sport model is not available in India, Honda is mulling over the possibility of introducing the 1.5-liter engine variant in India next year.

In the U.S though, you could buy the Fit off a Honda showroom. Now add to that some flashy jewelery in the form of Honda and Mugen parts which makes the Fit sportier and more fun (and pricey as well)

Honda’s long-time racing team and performance parts supplier, Mugen, has introduced a list of accessories.

Suzuki’s new Alloy wheels for Swift in the U.K

Suzuki has come out with a new set of alloys for Swift owners in Great Britain.

Designed specifically for the Swift, the alloy wheel and tyre packages available in three variations; 16-inch “Bremen”, 17-inch “Frankfurt” and 17-inch “Leipzig”.

The Suzuki Swift has grabbed attention world wide all these years, and in 2008 alone, sales of over a million vehicles globally are recorded. Produced in Hungary, the Swift developed with style and safety at the forefront of the design even served the Dzire with its platform.

It is only a wait for the Indian consumer before we get the new accessories for Swift. Why is it that still most manufacturers prefer to launch new limited editions as well as quality accessories on foreign shores without giving a thought for our own customers.

One of our regular Russian readers sent in information that goes out to all the Fabia fans in India. The hatchback can now be fitted with LED foglamps from a popular company Milotec for € 300.

Milotec also offers an aggressive body kit for the Fabia, pictured above. Their side skirts, wing mirrors, bumper, alloy wheels are all fine, but why remove the Skoda logo atop the grill? That kinda puts us off.

Earlier in the day you would have read the Porsche Design Edition 3 accessories which comprises of a car, suitcase and wrist watch. Porsche merchandise shouldn’t come cheap however compared to what Audi‘s introduced, it is merely negligible.

At almost 25,000 Euros, you could buy sixteen Tata Nanos. Just an idea, that!

100 years of Audi. A truly special anniversary, commemorated with an exceptional chronograph: the new Audi Centennial Timepiece. It embodies the brand’s incomparable values: tradition and innovation, design and precision, sophistication and perfection. A magnum opus of horology, this chronograph boasts a tachometer function as well as a unique design and a patented caliber.

This exclusive chronograph was conceived by Audi Design; our development and production partner is Chronoswiss, the Munich-based watchmaker. Audi and Chronoswiss alike devote themselves to precision and flawless quality. Moreover, both companies boast rich legacies, yet also strive for innovative excellence and pioneering solutions.

The Audi centennial timepiece—the Tachoscope—uniquely combines a regulator dial, a chronograph featuring a stopwatch operated by a single push-button, and a tachometer dial. The exception to the classic regulator principle is the offset configuration of the hour hand and the second hand, as only the minute hand is positioned in the center of the watch dial.

The chronograph hand is also centered on the Tachoscope. This layout ensures excellent readability, regardless of a watch dial’s complexity. The Tachoscope’s chronograph is complemented by the tachometer dial on the bezel. This dial measures velocity in kilometers or miles per hour.

As unique as the watch’s design is its dial, which is made of genuine enamel. Inspired by the instrumentation of the legendary Auto Union racing car, Audi Design created customized, crystal-clear lettering for the watch’s face. It is dominated by the second hand’s numerals, which are reminiscent of the tachometers in the Type C Grand Prix racing car of the 1930s.

Audi Design created a crown in the shape of a gearwheel; the case exudes elegance and is well-proportioned. In the mechanical movement, the rotor—visible through the glass back cover of the case—features engraving that proclaims the years of Audi’s anniversary.

Chronoswiss engineered the technology beneath the face. The interior of the Tachoscope contains the exclusive C. 125 caliber, for which Chronoswiss recently received a European patent (Number 1243984). By means of a complex mechanism, this caliber allows the chronograph to be operated via a single push-button integrated in the winding device’s crown.

The limited-edition Audi Centennial Timepiece will be manufactured in platinum (CH A 1520) and white gold (CH A 1521 W). A total of just 100 units will be made: one for each year in Audi’s history. Each of the 35 platinum and 65 white-gold wristwatches will be packaged in a wooden jewelry box with a black matte finish; accessories include a watchmaker’s loupe and screwdriver. Porsche has introduced a tempting line of products as part of the Design edition 3, testing the extent to which humans will go to acquire metal, leather and glass with the Porsche badge. This collection reminds me of the episode in the popular sitcom FRIENDS where character Joey gets obsessed with Porsches.

Porsche unveils the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3Porsche is expanding the successful Cayenne range with the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3, which will be limited to just one thousand numbered units worldwide. This new Cayenne model features styling cues that underline the V8-powered, high-performance personality of this Porsche and it will be available to special customer order from May.

The clear imprint of the Porsche Design Studio, based in Zell am See, Austria, which is one of the world leaders in industrial and product design, on this new Cayenne model can be seen in the choice of the paintwork colour, Lava Grey Metallic, chosen to emphasise the sporting stance of the car. This is underlined further by design stripes along the side and on the bonnet and 21-inch diameter SportPlus alloy wheels that are also colour co-ordinated to match the special exterior colour.

The elegant exterior appearance of this new model is rounded off by bi-xenon headlights and dark privacy glazing to the rear of the B-pillar, and the ‘Cayenne GTS’ model designation in black with a red “S” at the rear. An extended roof spoiler with a double wing profile is available as a no-cost option.

Inside the Cayenne Porsche Design Edition 3, the exclusive treatment continues with black leather upholstery throughout, with red contrasting seams on the instrument panel and doors. A three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, in turn, raises the car’s unique sporting character even higher.

Electrically adjustable sports seats with a comfort memory package and side support bolsters offer the driver and front passenger optimum seating comfort. The front headrests proudly display an embossed Porsche logo and the centre seat sections front and rear are finished in alcantara. The same material gives parts of the centre console and door trims and the complete roof lining a discreet but sophisticated touch, while carbon trim provides a subtle reference to motor sport. Finally, the ‘Porsche Design Edition 3’ model designation stands out clearly on the rev counter, the front door sill kick plates and on a plate in the glove compartment with the serial number of the vehicle embossed on the surface.

The unique experience in sound so typical of a Porsche comes, firstly, at the touch of a button from the sports exhaust system featured as standard and also from the Bose 5.1 Surround Sound System with no less than 14 loudspeakers and overall output of 410 W.

The purposeful exhaust note hints at the outstanding performance of this special Cayenne, with a 405bhp 4.8-litre V8 and six-speed Tiptronic S transmission featured as standard. On the road, this means acceleration from 0-62mph in just 6.5 seconds, and a top speed of 156 mph.

Like the Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 and the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 which preceded this special Cayenne model, every Porsche Design Edition is supplied with unique Porsche Design accessories. The Porsche Design Chronograph watch exclusively matching each model, for example, stands for particular design values and style. In the case of the Porsche Design Edition 3, the Porsche Design Studio has created a Type P’6612 automatic chronograph featuring a light titanium casing measuring 42 millimetres in diameter and further enhanced by a metal strap with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating. This special coating is carried over from racing engines and gives the titanium body of the watch its characteristic colour, while the exclusive face of the chronograph takes up striking design features from the interior of the Cayenne.

Another perfect match for this vehicle is the four-piece luggage set bearing the ‘Porsche Design Edition 3’ label and comprised of three trolley cases varying in size and a functional briefcase. All items may be used on aircraft as carry-on travel baggage, with the exception of the largest trolley case offering a capacity of 62 litres.

Vorsteiner unveils custom exhaust for BMW M3 Coupe and Sedan

The BMW M3 can be bought in it’s coupe form from any one of the many BMW dealerships across India. As a result, you walk in to the BMW Store, and walk out with the M3, drive back home, and find it’s exhaust note irksome. Tough circumstances you would be in, then.

Worry no more- Vorsteiner the BMW specialist, has announced a brand new titanium exhaust system for the BMW M3. It’s been put to the test for numberless miles before it began its life in the factory, so you can buy it without any fears of an engine shutdown or caesurae.

A combination of carbon fiber and Titanium helps this sound instrument weigh 18.5 kilograms lesser than the standard M3 exhaust. The glossy custom exhaust helps improve horsepower and torque, but we’d purchase one just for the rainbow treatment to it’s tip. We’re wondering who would pay for our M3 now.
