With Mahindra having revealed the Marazzo's interior, we can finally compare it to its main competitors - the Toyota Innova Crysta and the upcoming 2018 Maruti Ertiga.

Mahindra Marazzo vs Toyota Innova vs Maruti Ertiga interior comparison
Where the upcoming Marazzo and Ertiga are monocoque MPVs, the Innova Crysta uses an old-school ladder-frame.

Overall, all three MPVs sport a similar cabin, a fuss-free design comprising a multi-function steering wheel, a large instrument cluster with easy-to-reach dials, a touchscreen entertainment system on the centre console and AC controls beneath.

However, the finer details are unique to each manufacturer. Where Mahindra has gone for a piano-black dashboard with beige plastics, Maruti Suzuki has the all-beige dashboard with a prominent wood finish, and Toyota is focused on usability with an all-black dashboard and a subtle wood trim.

All three MPVs sport similar level of kit: Bluetooth controls on the steering wheel, electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors, a touchscreen entertainment system with GPS navigation and reverse camera display, automatic climate control (the 2018 Ertiga will have this feature when it launches in India), and at least dual airbags (all variants of the Toyota Innova Crysta get 3 airbags including a driver's knee airbag, and the top-end variant gets 7 airbags).

The Mahindra Marazzo and Innova Crysta also offer captain's chairs for the second row as an option but the Ertiga is available only with a conventional bench-type three-abreast seat. The Innova Crysta is also the largest in this class, not only on footprint but also on engines. The largest engine option on the Marazzo and Ertiga is not expected to go beyond 1.5-liters, whereas the smallest engine option on the Innova Crysta is a 2.4-liter unit.
