The Tata Tiago's strong performance in June helped it outsell the Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Eon.

Tata Motors dispatched 8,327 units of the Tiago to customers in June. That is significantly higher than the 5,438 units the hatchback was able to achieve during the same period last year. The Maruti Celerio, in comparison, closed the month at 6,570 units. The drop in its sales can be attributed to annual maintenance work at MSIL's plant resulting in a week-long shutdown last month. The Tiago was ahead of other rivals as well including the Hyundai Eon (4,270 units) and the Renault Kwid (4,939 units).

Tata Motors' strong run in the PV segment continued with the company reporting a growth of 63% over last year. After the Tiago, the Nexon was the most significant contributor accounting for 4,148 units of the total 18,213 units sold in June 2018. Tata was the third highest seller during June ahead of Honda, Mahindra, Ford, and Renault.

The Tata Tiago is offered with either a 1.2 L Revotron petrol or a 1.05 L Revotorq diesel engine. The Tiago petrol has power and torque outputs of 85 PS and 114 Nm while the diesel variant churns out 70 PS and 140 Nm. Both engines pair with a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the 1.2 L petrol is also available with a  5-speed AMT.

Customers can choose from five basic grades - XE, XB, XM, XT, and XZ. Prices start INR 3.35 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) onward. The automatic variant, available in XTA and XZA trims, retails for INR 5.00-5.59 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
