The Suzuki Gixxer 250 could borrow design elements from the Haojue HJ300-A or Suzuki-GSX-S300 (pictured).

The report claims that Suzuki could opt for a different name, but the Gixxer nomenclature has a strong brand recall. Similar to the Gixxer, the quarter-litre is likely to an India-specific product and will directly rival the Yamaha FZ25 apart from the TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The report further claims that Suzuki will also introduce a more expensive faired version based on the Gixxer 250, which will rival the Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Honda CBR 250R.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will feature muscular styling inspired by its bigger brothers – Suzuki GSX-S750 and the GSX-S1000 naked streetfighters. The motorcycle could take design inspiration from the Haouje HJ300, which shares its platform with the Suzuki GSX-S300. However, the report claims that the Gixxer 250 will get signature Suzuki design elements. The motorcycle is likely to feature an all-digital instrument cluster and LED headlights and taillights.

According to the report, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will feature an all-new 250 cc, single cylinder engine with oil cooling. The new motor is likely to develop a maximum power in the range of 22-25 hp, while it will pair with either a 5-speed or a 6-speed transmission. Suzuki will use the same frame from the Gixxer; however, it will get strengthening for the higher specification. The motorcycle is likely to feature telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock with adjustable preload.

The upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250 will feature disc brakes at both the ends with ABS as standard, and whether Suzuki offers dual-channel or single-channel ABS remains to be seen. Suzuki is likely to position the Gixxer 250 between the Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Honda CBR 250R. We can expect the motorcycle to cost INR 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
