The BMW G 310 R first debuted in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and more recently, at the 2018 Auto Expo alongside the BMW G 310 GS. The G 310 R is a naked street-fighter, which rivals the KTM 390 Duke, and the Bajaj Dominar 400. BMW Motorrad has engineered the bike in Germany while TVS Motor Company manufacturers the motorcycle at its factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

According to BMW Motorrad India, the G 310 twins has received overwhelming feedback in the domestic market. The G 310 R is available in three colour options - Racing Red, Cosmic Black and Pearl White Metallic with HP lettering. Here are the top five things to know about the BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS.

The BMW G 310 R sources power from a 313 cc, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection, which also powers the TVS Apache RR 310 and the BMW G 310 GS. The single-cylinder motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine transfers control to the rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission. The G 310 R gets a top-speed of 145 kph, while it tips the scales at 158.5 kg.

The BMW G 310 R features a sculpted fuel tank, while a massive cowl surrounds the radiator. The motorcycle sports a bikini fairing with a raised tail section and single-piece seat with a saddle height of 820 mm. The G 310 R comes with a digital display for the instrument cluster, wide handlebar, and LED turn indicators and taillights.

The motorcycle comes with lightweight 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels that run on 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear Michelin Pilot Street radial tires. The G 310 R is available with a standard three years, unlimited kilometres warranty.
