This is the 7th price increase of the Bajaj Dominar 400 since its launch.

It is the seventh price hike for the Bajaj Dominar 400 since its launch in December 2016 and the fourth hike this year. The Dominar 400 now retails at INR 1.48 lakh for the non-ABS variant and INR 1.62 lakh for the ABS model (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi). Over the course of the 19 months, the cost has increased by INR 12,000 as the company first launched the bike at INR 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, Bajaj is offering various offers on the Dominar 400 for this month under the 'Hat-Trick' scheme. Here’s a list of detailed price breakup since the bike's launch in December 2016.

Bajaj Auto launched the updated 2018 Dominar 400 range in January that featured new colour schemes and golden alloy wheels. The Bajaj Dominar 400 has drastically fallen short of achieving the target of reaching 10,000 units sales per month, which was set by the company at the time of the launch. The company is barely doing around 1,000 units of the bike in the domestic market.

Taking into account the current prices of the Bajaj Dominar 400 and its rivals, the bike is still a tremendous value of money offering. It seems that Bajaj Auto’s strategy was to launch the bike at cut-throat prices and gradually normalize the costs to acceptable levels. The bike is a decent product but has fallen victim to Bajaj’s strategy to compete with Royal Enfield.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 sources power from a 373.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with four valves and fuel injection. This motor produces a maximum power of 34.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine sends power to rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission with a standard slipper clutch. The motorcycle features 320 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, while dual-channel ABS is optional.

The Dominar 400 gets 43 mm front telescopic forks and an adjustable gas-charged mono-shock at the rear. The bike gets a top speed of 148 km/h while it tips the scales at 182 kg (kerb weight). The Dominar receives a relatively low ground clearance of 157 mm along with a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres.
