Twitter user 'ikanishktyagi' has shared spy shots of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift that partially reveal the interior of the updated model. Latest reports suggest Maruti will launch the updated version of the sedan in June - July 2018.

The buttons on the right spoke of the steering wheel reveal the addition of cruise control to the Maruti Ciaz.

A closer inspection reveals the addition of buttons for cruise control on the steering wheel. They are identical to the ones used in the Maruti S-Cross. This appears to be the Zeta grade judging by the presence of a 2-DIN audio unit in place of a touchscreen present in the Alpha grades. While much of the dashboard seems unchanged, the faux wood trim on the door panel appears to be finished in a lighter shade giving it a more upmarket look.

The exterior spy shots do not reveal anything new. The 2018 Maruti Ciaz will get a new front end with a sleeker grille and revised bumper. Expect some addition of chrome around the fog lamps. The rear will get a new set of tail lamps with smaller, narrower turn signal and reverse light.

Under the hood, there will be a new 1.5 L K15B petrol engine coupled with mild hybrid technology. It will replace the outgoing model's 1.4 L engine that was, at 68 kW and 130 Nm, down on power and torque compared to its rivals. The new engine will produce around 105 PS and 138 Nm. Expect manual and automatic transmissions to be available.

The diesel variants of the Ciaz are reported to receive a new 1.5 L unit replacing the current 1.3 L Fiat-sourced engine. However, as per the latest report, that will not happen until next year. So, for now, the Ciaz diesel will continue with the 66 kW and 200 Nm DDiS 200 diesel mill paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
