According to a report from Autocar India, the Royal Enfield 650 Twins are likely to be launched in the country in the third quarter of 2018. The bikes will reportedly cost between INR 3-3.5 lakhs.
The Royal Enfield 650 Twins are scheduled to be launched in the UK market this month, and the bookings have commenced. The motorcycles were recently spotted in Australia wearing new colour schemes. The cult bike maker is focussing a lot on the quality of its new motorcycles to avoid issues like the Himalayan did. When launched in the country, it could be the least expensive 650 cc twin-cylinder motorcycle. The bikes would rival Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Kawasaki Vulcan S in the Indian market.
The two motorcycles share the 648 cc SOHC parallel twin mill with air and oil cooling. The powerplant generates 47 PS at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a new 6-speed transmission with slip-assist clutch. Front and rear discs with dual-channel ABS is standard as well. Suspension components include telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.
