ET Auto reports that Mahindra & Mahindra and Ford are in the final stages of formalising the MoU announced in September last year. The strategic alliance will include platform sharing between the two companies across multiple segments.

Mahindra to use Ford B562 platform for electric sedan
Mahindra is reportedly going to utilise Ford's B562 platform for an electric sedan.

According to the latest report, Mahindra will utilise Ford's B562 platform for an all-electric sedan. The B562 platform is the one the underpins the current Ford Figo and Aspire. Working together and the resultant platform sharing will help both companies significantly bring down development time for a new product.

Last month it was reported that Ford will bring out an electric variant of the Aspire developed with help from Mahindra. It is possible that both carmakers have agreed to share the platform and drivetrain for their upcoming EV.

It is expected to launch an all-electric variant of the KUV100 before the end of 2018. The Mahindra e-KUV100 was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier in February this year. A report from December reveals that Mahindra Electric is plotting three new products that are scheduled to hit the markets by 2020.
