We share this video to inform readers about the vehicle, and in no way promote speeding, weaving or rash usage of a vehicle. We request readers to follow local speed laws and wear appropriate gear while using a motorcycle.

We are not ruling out a speedo-error, as usually, the Bajaj Dominar 400 tops out at around 165 kmph at 9,000 rpm, in real-world conditions. The older generation bike has the rev-limiter at 9,000 rpm, while the new ECU version cuts off at 8,500 rpm.

The claimed top speed stands at 148 kmph. Speedometers usually indicate a slightly higher speed than the actual speed of the vehicle. The true speed is generally measured using GPS readouts. Various parameters like wind direction, inclusion of aerodynamic accessories, road levelling and rider’s weight come into play when it comes to top-speed testing. Bajaj claims the bike can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.23 seconds.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 draws power from the KTM Duke-derived 373.3 cc engine. The triple spark, SOHC mill makes 35 PS of power at 8,000 rpm; and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission that comes with a slipper clutch. Price of the 2018 Bajaj Dominar 400 starts from INR 144,113 for the non-ABS variant; and INR 158,275 for the dual-channel ABS version. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
