2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range launched in India

Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range in the country, with prices starting from INR 11.76 lakhs. The three new models that have gone on sale include the Tiger XCx, XRx, and XC.

The Tiger range is one of Triumph's most popular motorcycles in the country.

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range witnesses more than 200 upgrades to the chassis and engine, according to Triumph. The first gear has a shorter ratio for better maneuverability, and the lighter silencer has an improved exhaust note. The windscreen is adjustable up to five positions. The instrumentation is a full-colour TFT unit which is customisable as well. The new illuminated switchgear features a five-way joystick control as well. The lighting system is all-LED.

The 800 cc in-line three-cylinder DOHC engine comes with liquid cooling and fuel injection. It generates 95 PS of power at 9,500 rpm, and 78.8 Nm of torque at 8,050 rpm. Commenting about the launch, Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. said:

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range rivals the Honda Africa Twin, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 in the Indian market. The XR variant costs INR 11.76 lakhs; the XRx variant will set you back by INR 13.13 lakhs; and INR 13.76 lakhs for the XCx version. All prices are ex-showroom, Pan India.
