Aprilia SR 125 & Aprilia Storm - Auto Expo 2018 Live

Piaggio India has launched the Aprilia SR 125 and unveiled the Aprilia Storm at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the scooters' live images from the show.

Aprilia SR 125:

The brand has priced the Aprilia SR 125 at INR 65,310, ex-showroom, Pune. The scooter is available across Aprilia and Vespa dealerships in India. Key features of the scooters include 14-inch alloy wheels, longer seat and a raised grab handle. The design of the scooter is similar to its bigger cousin, the Aprilia SR 150, but the graphics are slightly different.

Powering the Aprilia SR 125 is a 125 cc 3-valve engine with carburettor. It makes 9.5 PS at 7,250 rpm, and 9.9 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. Cycle parts are the same as the SR 150. This includes telescopic front fork and single rear shock absorber. The scooter comes to a halt using 220 mm front disc and a 140 mm rear drum. 120-section rubber wrap the alloy wheels. The SR 125 is approximately INR 4,000 less expensive than the SR 150.

With the Aprilia Storm, the company targets the youth, integrating fun riding into their daily lives. The bodywork features funky colours, and the 12-inch wheels are shod with wide terrain tyres, measuring 120-section at the front and 130-section at the rear. There are a wide variety of accessories through which the rider can customise his/her scooter.

Powering the Aprilia Storm is a 124.49 cc single cylinder mill. It is good for 9.65 PS at 7,250 rpm, and 9.9 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm, both at crankshaft. The Aprilia Storm rides on 30 mm telescopic front fork and singe rear shock absorber. The fuel tank capacity stands at 6.5 litres.

The brand also launched a mobile connectivity app, which will be available on the Android and IOS platforms soon. In the app, all the information related to the scooter is stored; and riders can find, navigate and follow their bikes using the app. It also gets panic alert feature wherein riders can reach out to the registered number configured with the current location and ask for help in case of an emergency. Additionally, one can search for petrol pumps; locate nearby service stations, connect with customer care, and book a service as well.
