Royal Enfield witnesses 47% growth in exports in December

In December, Royal Enfield sold 1,601 units internationally, growing by 47% year on year. The brand sold 65,367 units locally, registering a growth of 16% year on year.

Coming to the total domestic and international sales, Royal Enfield has clocked 66,968 units. This amounts to a 16% growth in comparison with the 57,398 units sold in December 2016. Coming to the Year To Date (YTD) market performance, manufacturer has sold 5,79,462 in FY 2017-18. This has resulted in a 21% growth over the previous financial year. In the export, the brand has witnessed a 32% growth YTD, with a tally of 13,988 units. In total, Chennai-based brand has sold 5,93,450 units in this financial year, growing by 21%.

In December last year, Royal Enfield organised the sale of the 15 limited-edition Stealth Black Classic 500 motorcycles. Braveheart NSG Black Cat Commandos rode those motorcycles on a mission to raise awareness against terrorism. The bike maker sold the motorcycles in under 18 seconds. The brand also organised Royal Enfield Scramble Rajasthan from 6th - 10th December, 2017; and Tour of Rajasthan from 15th - 24th December, 2017.

This year, the brand is gearing up to launch the trendier variants of the Thunderbird twins. The cult motorcycle maker will be launching its flagship products, the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650 in the summer season of this year.
