KTM had discontinued the two bikes in Europe last year owing to the Euro IV emission norms. However, the KTM 690 Enduro R is still on sale in the US market, as per the listing on the official site. Coming back to the new bike, it gets a slightly sleeker bodywork with a slimmer headlamp. KTM has replaced the bulb type indicators with LED units.

MCN reports that the bikes may feature a new engine which the 2016 690 Duke was updated with. The counterbalanced engine makes 73 bhp of power and 73.8 Nm of torque. The two motorcycles reportedly feature a larger exhaust to comply with the latest emission norms.

According to the website, the bike is likely to use WP Xplor 48 front fork, which offers 50 mm more travel than the previous generation bike, at 300 mm. The rear may use a compatible monoshock setup. Brakes include discs on both ends with dual-channel ABS. It is speculated that the bikes will be unveiled along with the KTM 790 Adventure at the 2018 EICMA show and will be launched in 2019.
