The 2018 Ford Ranger's front-end has a cleaner design and looks closer to that of the Ford Everest.

The current generation Ford Ranger (codename: Ford T6) arrived in 2011 and received a facelift in 2015. It will receive its second facelift this year. The 2018 Ford Ranger features new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, new upper grille with two horizontal chrome slats in between and a slimmer upper portion for the ‘RANGER’ branding, revised lower grille and redesigned front bumper. Overall, the front-end looks cleaner and closer to that of the Ford Everest (Ford Endeavour) now.

The current Ford Ranger is available with a 2.5-litre Duratec four-cylinder petrol engine, 2.2-litre Duratorq four-cylinder diesel engine and 3.2-litre five-cylinder diesel engine. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

Ford will introduce a new ‘Raptor’ variant of the Ford Ranger with the next facelift. The Ford Ranger Raptor should employ a new 2.0-litre EcoBlue twin-turbo diesel engine in 190 hp and 215 hp versions. A new 10-speed automatic transmission will likely send power to the wheels. The Ford Ranger Raptor will have its world premiere on 7 February, 2018. The regular new Ford Ranger should arrive along with this model.
