Triumph India to launch four new products in 2018 - Report

Triumph is planning to launch four new products next year, and plans to assemble 90% of its bikes in the country in 2018, reports Moneycontrol.

The website reports that Triumph is looking to extract 15% sales from Tier II cities, and show a double-digit growth next year. Speaking to the news site, Triumph Motorcycles India MD Vimal Sumbly said:

Our target for next year is that 10-15 percent of our total sales should come from tier-II cities. At present the contribution is around 7-8 percent. Adding the spread of digital medium has helped in reaching out to a wider audience and expanding the market. Triumph Motorcycles India expects to end 2017 with sales of over 1,300 units, a growth of over 10-12 percent over last year.

Sumbly added that by March 2018, Triumph will have three new dealerships, taking the count to 17. The brand targets to have 20 dealerships by the end of next year. Speaking about the upcoming products, he revealed that a new Classic Cruiser is on the cards for the first quarter. It is likely to be the Bonneville Speedmaster. In the second quarter, the brand plans to launch the new Adventure range (likely to be the updated Tiger and Explorer range).

In August, the brand launched the Street Scrambler at INR 8.10 lakhs.

Currently the British bike maker assembles 80% of its products in its Manesar facility. This includes the Bonneville, Street Triple, and the Tiger 800 range. However, the niche products will continue to be sold via the CBU route. At present, Triumph has dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, Pune, Jaipur, Kochi, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad and Jaipur.
