The Audi Q5 snapped at the dealership yard is a diesel engine model featuring the quattro permanent AWD system.

The second generation Audi Q5 features an evolutionary design and is bigger than its predecessor. At 4,663 mm long and 1,659 mm tall, the redesigned Q5 is 34 mm longer and 6 mm taller than the first-gen Q5. Audi has extended the wheelbase by 12 mm to 2,819 mm. The width has remained unchanged at 1,893 mm. The all-new Q5 offers 550 litres to 610 litres of boot space and a total 1,550 litres of luggage space with the rear bench folded down. Power tailgate with sensor control and manual lowering of the body via air suspension makes cargo loading simpler.

The second-gen Audi Q5 rides on the MLB-Evo platform and is up to 90 kg lighter than the first-gen Audi Q5. Globally, Audi offers it with a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, a 2.0-litre TDI diesel in three configurations, and a 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine. Their specifications are as follows:

  • 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, 185 kW (252 PS) and 370 Nm of torque
  • 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, 110 kW (150 PS) and 320 Nm of torque
  • 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, 120 kW (163 PS) and 400 Nm of torque
  • 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, 140 kW (190 PS) and 400 Nm of torque
  • 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine, 210 kW (286 PS) and 620 Nm of torque

The 2017 Audi Q5’s transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S tronic automatic and an 8-speed tiptronic automatic. The latter is exclusive to the 3.0 TDI engine model. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain layout, while the Quattro permanent AWD system is available in select configurations. The Q5 seen in the spy shots has a TDI diesel engine and the Quattro permanent AWD system.
