Suzuki Motorcycle registers a 22.27% growth in October

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer - Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan; recorded a year-on-year growth of 22.27% during October 2017.

The company has sold 46,048 units in October, in the domestic market.

The company sold 50,237 units including domestic and export market in October. Among them, the brand has sold 46,048 units in the domestic market. The cumulative figure during the period of April-October, 2017 now stands at 3,31,415 units; with a growth of 38.43% year on year. The company sold 2,39,405 units in the same period last year.

Commenting on its market performance, Mr Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL said:

For FY 2017-18, Suzuki Two-wheelers is targeting a sale of 5,00,000 units. Buoyed by the impressive festive-season performance, we continue to hold a positive outlook in the coming months as well. Not only are we on the threshold of surpassing its FY 2016-17 sales-performance of 3,50,000 units in just 7 months, but now carry a very strong momentum as we work towards ramping-up our product line-up and expanding the dealership networks.

2017 Series Suzuki Gixxer SP
The brand launched the 2017 Gixxer SP Edition in August.

Suzuki is on an offensive with new products in store. The Intruder 150 will enter the Indian market on November 7th. The company is also working on a 150cc premium scooter; and aims to make India the global production base for the next-gen GSX250R. In August, the Japanese major launched the 2017 SP Editions of the Gixxer twins, and the ABS variant of the Gixxer SF.
