Datsun rolls out 100,000th car in India

Datsun rolled out its 100,000th car from the Chennai plant today after more than three years of operation. The production milestone was marked by the rollout of a Datsun Redi-GO 1.0 L. The manufacturing facility in Chennai is shared by Nissan, Datsun's owner, and Renault as part of their alliance.

Jerome Saigot, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said:

The 100,000^th roll out of Datsun is a strong testimony of customer acceptance and their confidence towards our brand, products and value based offerings. On behalf of the Datsun India team I would like to thank all our customers and dealer partners for the commitment towards our brand.

Datsun currently sells three models in the Indian market - GO, GO+, and Redi-GO. Together, they account for half of Nissan's total sales in India.

Going forward, Datsun is expected to launch the GO Cross in India. It is a crossover based on the GO+ MPV and was showcased in concept form at the 2016 Auto Expo last February.
