MSIL has launched the updated Maruti S-Cross 2017 at a starting price of INR 8.49 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The S-Cross facelift comes with a new fascia along with the addition of Smart Hybrid technology.

With the omission of the 1.6 L variant, the 1.3 L Alpha becomes the range-topping variant of the Maruti S-Cross 2017. Overall, the facelift costs 30,000 - 45,000 more than the model it replaces. There's is a gap of INR 1.31 lakhs between the top-end Alpha and the second from top Zeta trims.

The Maruti S-Cross will no longer be offered with the 1.6 L DDiS 320 diesel engine. The 1.3 L DDiS 200 will be the sole engine option on offer. The engine gains Smart Hybrid system that comes with features like idle-stop-start, torque assist, brake energy regeneration system, which help enhance the fuel efficiency of the S-Cross. Official figures are yet to be revealed.
