The 2017 Land Rover Discovery was spotted in India yet again recently, just weeks before its launch on 28 October, courtesy Facebook group JLR Enthusiasts and Owners - India.
Land Rover has introduced the fifth generation Land Rover with two engine options. One is the 3.0-litre Si6 supercharged V6 petrol engine that produces 340 PS at 6,500 rpm and 460 Nm of torque from 3,500-5,000 rpm. The other is the 3.0-litre Td6 turbocharged V6 diesel engine that develops 258 PS at 3,750 rpm and 600 Nm of torque from 1,750-2,250 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system (with single-speed transfer box or twin-speed transfer box) are standard.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is available in S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury grades, as well as the First Edition model. Exterior highlights include adaptive LED headlights with LED signature, heated washer jets, 21-inch alloy wheels, gesture tailgate and panoramic roof. Inside, the mid-size SUV features front seats with 16-way electric adjustment, massage and memory functions, four-zone climate control, head-up display, 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with navigation, configurable ambient lighting and 825-watt, 10-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System.
Noteworthy safety and driver assistance systems available in the Indian-spec 2017 Land Rover Discovery are, surround camera system, electric parking brake, Dynamic Stability Control, Roll Stability Control, Hill Descent Control with Off-Road ABS and eight airbags.

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery was announced in August with prices starting at INR 68.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Reports say that the increase in cess on SUVs from 15% to 25% will lead to an increase in prices at the launch. Deliveries will commence in the first week of November.
