At the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt, Citroen is showcasing the Citroen SpaceTourer Rip Curl Concept. The van features modifications that turn the vehicle into a motorhome. Like the Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl from the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, it has been developed in association with surfwear giant Rip Curl.

The standard Citroen SpaceTourer's motorhome conversion has been carried out by Pössl. The multifunctional van features a lifting roof that helps maximize the space on board. Ingress and egress are via two sliding electric side doors. The cabin allows for seven occupants to travel comfortably in "day" configuration. In what the company calls the "night" configuration, up to four people can sleep in the vehicle. The rear seat unfolds to form a flat surface for two inside the cabin. A second sleeping area for two people is concealed in the lift roof with a mattress creating a sleeping space above the cabin.

Pössl has also managed to squeeze in an integrated kitchenette, which includes a gas cooker, sink, and storage enabling the occupants to prepare meals. There's a retractable sliding table attached to the kitchenette that acts as a mini dining table.

The concept gets a dual tone paint finish along with fluorescent yellow highlights. The cabin replicates the exterior colour scheme. The official release from Citroen specifies a dark khaki for the upper part, and a bright beige for the lower part.

The van draws power from a 148 hp (110 kW) BlueHDi 150 S&S 2.0-litre diesel that produces 370 Nm (272 lb.ft) of peak torque at 2,000 rpm. The Citroen SpaceTourer Rip Curl features 4x4 conversion, courtesy Automobiles Dangel. That, coupled with a raised ride height helps the van tackle rough terrain users might have to deal with while out on their camping adventures. This and the motorhome conversions are already available with the SpaceTourer.
