Land Rover recently announced a few new updates for its full-size SUV. Firstly, the Discovery is now available with JLR’s 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine which produces 300 PS and 400 Nm. Previously, the sole petrol option for the Discovery was the 3.0L V6 Supercharged motor with 340 PS. The 2.0L motor is paired with a 8-speed automatic gearbox and Land Rover's 4WD with Terrain Response as standard.

The diesel lineup comprises of a 180 PS 2.0-litre Ingenium turbocharged four-cylinder diesel, 240 PS 2.0-litre Ingenium twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel and 258 PS 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel motors, all paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Land Rover's 4WD with Terrain Response as standard. The new Discovery drops the body-on-frame platform for an aluminium-intensive monocoque platform derived from the Range Rover. It measures 4,970 mm in length, 2,220 mm in width (with door mirrors open) 1,846 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of the 2,923 mm.
