Suzuki has released new details and photos of the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport. The third-gen Suzuki Swift Sport will have its world premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017) next month.

The 2017 Suzuki Sport's rear features a diffuser and dual exhausts. The styling is basically the same as in the previous generation model.

Suzuki had revealed the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport's front and sides earlier, but this is the first look at the car's rear and interior. At the back, the 2017 Suzuki Sport features a diffuser and dual exhausts. There's a stop lamp too in the centre. The styling is the same as in the previous generation Swift Sport.

Inside, as expected, the new seats have red stitching and 'Sport' branding on them. Some elements, including the dashboard and door panels, have red accents. The red colour is used in the instrument panel gauges too. There's a boost gauge between the speedometer and rev counter. Like the seats, the steering wheel and gearshift lever have red stitching.

The performance derivative of the 2017 Suzuki Swift is powered by a new 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. It is a more powerful version of the Suzuki Vitara's engine and develops 150 PS at 5,500 rpm and 25.0 kgf.m (245.17 Nm) of torque from 1,500-4,000 rpm. One of the official images shows the car equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. In the picture showing the car's instrument panel, the "P" sign seen in the MID hints an automatic transmission option. It is probably a 6-speed unit.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will go on sale in Japan this year, followed by European and other international markets. Maruti Suzuki may launch the first-ever Maruti Swift Sport with this model, probably sporting the 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET engine. There's no confirmation of this yet, however.
